Eligibility
Please note that preference is given to high school juniors and students who have not previously had extensive research experience.
- Must be 16 years old by June 29th, 2026
- Must be a Yale Pathways to Science Scholar (What is a Pathways Scholar?)
- Must be enrolled in a high school in the New Haven, West Haven, or Orange/Amity public schools systems
- Must have a GPA of at least 3.0
- Must attend the entire program (June 29th to August 14th, 2026)
Application
We are now accepting applications for YPRI 2026! The application is due on Feb 24, 2026 and includes the following steps:
- Go through the full list of host labs participating in YPRI 2026. For the labs you are interested in, carefully review the project description and prerequisites.
- Complete the online application. This includes short essays, transcript upload (unofficial is acceptable), and a resume upload.
- Ensure that one STEM teacher recommendation is submitted.
We will also be hosting a virtual info session at this link on February 3, 6-7 PM!

- Time commitment: 40 hours per week (9 AM - 5 PM), June 25 - Aug 14
- Educational Stipend: $2,500

* Monday-Thursday: Interns will be working on their projects in their host labs.
Friday: YPRI will host professional development workshops and group mentorship activities.
